Marine Guyot · research software engineerAbout me

Embedded systems engineer by training, I have always aimed to work in research.

Portrait of Marine Guyot, research software engineer

Marine Guyot

I started on autonomous vehicles, moved to biomedical engineering, and spent three years in a neuroscience lab building software that had to work in real time, during the experiment itself. Since 2023, I've been a freelance research software engineer, working with labs and young companies in neuroscience, biotech, imaging and machine learning.

I'm often the person in between: I understand what the scientists are trying to show, and what it takes for the software to hold. Having worked in many labs, I recognize the same problems under different vocabularies: diverged versions, code nobody owns any more, results that are hard to reproduce.

I use AI assistants in my work, with confidentiality first: Claude only when the client agrees and when it makes sense for what we're building, local models otherwise, so your code and data never go to a third-party service.
